This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, store and protect your information when you visit this website, make an enquiry or work with Studio A for photography, branding, website design or other creative services.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Studio A is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

Information I collect

When you contact or work with Studio A, I may collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, business or company name, billing information and any information you choose to provide through an enquiry form, email or consultation.
For design and branding projects, this may also include business information, brand materials, photographs, logos, documents, website content and other files supplied for the purpose of completing your project.
For photography services, I may collect booking and contact information as well as photographs or video created during your session or event. Where children are photographed, additional care is taken when handling and using their personal information.
I may also collect limited technical information when you visit this website, such as your device type, browser, IP address and information about how the website is used, where this is collected through website functionality, cookies or analytics.

How your information is used

Your information may be used to respond to enquiries, provide quotations, manage bookings and projects, communicate with you, deliver photography or design work, process payments, maintain business and accounting records and provide ongoing client support.
I may also use information where necessary to protect Studio A's legitimate business interests, maintain website security and improve my services.

Where personal information is required to provide a service you have requested, the lawful basis will normally be taking steps before entering into a contract or performing our contract. Other information may be processed to meet legal obligations or for legitimate business interests where appropriate.

I do not sell or rent your personal information.

Photography, portfolio and social media

Photographs created as part of a photography service may contain identifiable individuals and therefore may constitute personal information.

Your photographs will be processed as necessary to photograph, edit, deliver and manage your booking.
Studio A may occasionally wish to feature photography on its website, portfolio, social media or other promotional materials. Where appropriate, this use will be discussed with you and permission obtained before identifiable client images are used for promotional purposes.

Particular care is taken with photographs of children. Children's information receives additional protection under UK data protection law, and Studio A will not use identifiable photographs of children for portfolio or promotional purposes without appropriate agreement from a parent or guardian.

You can contact Studio A if you have concerns about the continued promotional use of an image.

Design and branding projects

For branding, website design, social media design and other creative projects, I may receive business documents, images, copy, login or access information, brand assets and other materials necessary to complete the work.

These materials will only be used for the purposes of delivering your project unless another use has been agreed with you.

Where possible, please avoid providing confidential or sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the project.

Sharing your information

I may use trusted third-party services where necessary to operate Studio A and provide services to clients. These may include website hosting and website tools such as Wix, email providers, cloud storage services, photography gallery or file-delivery platforms, accounting services and payment processors.

These providers may process personal information on my behalf or, in some cases, operate as separate data controllers under their own privacy policies.

If you make a payment through a third-party payment provider, Studio A does not normally receive or store your full card details.
Personal information may also be disclosed where required by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

International data transfers

Some technology providers used by Studio A may process or store information outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards will be used where required by UK data protection law.

How long information is kept

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

General enquiries that do not become bookings or projects will normally be deleted when they are no longer required.

Photography and design project files may be retained for a reasonable period after completion to allow for client support, replacement files or follow-up work and may then be securely deleted.

Invoices, payment records and other information required for tax and accounting purposes will be retained for the period required by law. If operating as self-employed, HMRC generally requires relevant business records to be retained for at least five years after the relevant Self Assessment submission deadline. GOV.UK
