Family sessions are usually held outdoors, in a location chosen to suit the season, the light and the feeling you’d like to create, from open fields and woodland to parks and other beautiful natural settings. If you prefer something quieter and more personal, your session can also take place at home. I’ll be happy to help you choose a location that feels right for your family.

Absolutely. If you have a favourite place or somewhere that holds special memories for your family, I’d love to hear about it. I’m also happy to suggest locations that work beautifully with the season, the light and the overall feel of your session.

Outdoor sessions are usually planned around the most beautiful natural light, often during the softer hours of the morning or evening. Golden hour gives us a particularly warm and gentle glow, but your family’s routine matters too, especially with little ones. We’ll choose a time that works comfortably for you while making the most of the available light.

Soft, neutral and earthy tones photograph beautifully and help create a timeless, cohesive feel. Rather than matching exactly, choose colours and textures that complement one another and try to avoid large logos, neon shades or very busy patterns. Once booked, I’ll send you a styling guide with inspiration and practical tips.

Bring anything your little ones may need to feel comfortable — drinks, a few small snacks, wipes and an extra layer if needed. A favourite blanket or comfort toy can also be lovely to have with you and may even become part of the story.

If we’re planning an outdoor session and the weather isn’t suitable, we’ll simply move your session to the next available date at no additional cost. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and we’ll make the final decision together.

A £75 booking deposit secures your date and is deducted from the total cost of your session. Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll send you everything you need to prepare.
